Fractional recruiting, explained.

Straight answers about how Folium works, what it costs, and whether it's right for your company. Don't see your question? Send it over or book a quick call.

Embedded recruiting means a senior recruiter works inside your business — in your ATS, your intake meetings, and your hiring decisions — rather than lobbing candidates over the wall like a traditional agency. At Folium, that means full-cycle recruiting across your open roles, plus building the hiring process and systems around them: ATS optimization, interviewer training, structured workflows, and hiring manager coaching. You get a recruiting function, not just a recruiter — without the cost of a full-time head of talent.
Folium's pricing is public and flat: $6,500/month for 1–3 concurrent roles, $13,000 for 4–5, $18,000 for 6–8, and custom-scoped above that. Compare that to a traditional agency at 20–25% of first-year salary per hire — a single $150K hire costs $30–37K in agency fees — or a full-time senior recruiter at $150–200K plus benefits whether you're hiring or not. Our ROI calculator shows the math for your specific situation. Full details on our pricing page.
There's no cap on total hires. Pricing is based on how many roles we're working at the same time — not a set number of placements. Our average time-to-fill is about six weeks, so as one role closes, the next moves into its place. A single tier supports a continuous flow of hiring for as long as you're engaged. Quick way to estimate your tier: take your expected hires over the next three months and divide by two. If your volume grows, we bump the tier; if it slows, we dial it back.
Three big differences. Cost structure: agencies charge 20–25% of salary per hire; Folium is a flat monthly fee with no per-hire fees. Depth: agencies send candidates and move on; Folium embeds in your team, builds your hiring process, and improves your whole system. Incentives: agencies are paid to close placements fast; Folium is paid to make your hiring work, which means we're aligned on quality, not just speed. You're building a capability, not buying transactions.
Most RaaS firms hide pricing behind "request a quote," staff engagements with a senior lead plus junior recruiters doing the actual work, and specialize in one function (usually go-to-market only). Folium is different on all three: pricing is public, every engagement is led hands-on by a senior recruiter with 16+ years of experience, and we recruit across go-to-market, G&A, and technical roles — so you're not juggling separate vendors to build a complete team.
If you have steady, high-volume hiring that will continue indefinitely, a full-time recruiter eventually makes sense. But most companies between 20 and 200 employees hire in bursts — a funding round, a new team, a big customer win. A full-time recruiter is a fixed $150–200K-plus-benefits cost you carry through the slow periods. Fractional gives you senior firepower during the bursts and nothing when hiring slows. Many clients use Folium to get through growth phases, then hire their first internal recruiter with a process already built — which we'll happily help you do.
A TA audit is a fixed-fee ($7,500) diagnostic of your entire hiring function: process review, ATS and toolstack assessment, job description and employer brand audit, and interview structure review — delivered as a prioritized report you can act on immediately. It's the right starting point if hiring feels broken but you're not sure where. If you move forward with an Embedded Recruiting engagement afterward, the audit fee is considered as part of your final tier pricing.
Folium goes deepest in B2B SaaS and health tech companies between 20 and 200 employees, typically Seed through Series B. Within those companies, we recruit across the whole org: go-to-market (sales, marketing, customer success, RevOps), G&A (finance, people, legal, operations), and technical (engineering, product, data, design). Deep vertical knowledge, full functional range — so one partner covers your complete team.
Fast. A quick intro call to scope things, a simple agreement, and Folium can be working your roles within days. Engagements are month-to-month with no long-term lock-in — either side can adjust or wrap up with reasonable notice. We believe the work should earn the renewal, not a contract.
Primarily remote, with occasional in-person stakeholder meetings where useful — especially early in an engagement. Folium is based in New Hampshire and works with companies across the US.
